The class explores the intricate relationship between leadership and change, examining how leaders can successfully navigate, drive, and respond to organizational, societal, and personal transformations. Through a blend of theoretical frameworks, and practical applications, students will develop a deeper understanding of the role of leadership in fostering positive change in various contexts. The course will cover leadership styles, the psychology of change, resistance to change, and strategies for leading through uncertainty, equipping participants with the tools to lead change effectively.
Course Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will:
- Understand key leadership theories and their application to change processes.
- Explore the psychology of change, including why individuals and organizations resist change, how this is associated with the pre/perinatal experience and how leaders can address these challenges.
- Analyze various leadership styles (transformational, transactional, servant leadership..) and their effectiveness in managing change.
- Learn strategies for managing and leading teams.
- Develop practical skills for guiding others through personal and professional transitions, enhancing emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability.
- Examine real-world case studies to evaluate successful and unsuccessful change leadership efforts.
