Empowering Parents Through Transgenerational Awareness
Science has already shown the impact and influence past generations can have on our life experiences and expectations. Becoming a parent is not only a dream but also a responsibility as well. Some of those responsibilities are connected to the child’s needs and educational experiences. Alongside these, there is another, often overlooked, parental responsibility, which is about becoming aware of the transgenerational trauma that can influence parental feelings, attitude and behaviour towards the child. This can include the choice of a child’s name, as well as unfulfilled transgenerational expectations unconsciously placed upon the child. By exploring your genealogical inheritance, you can enhance your child’s life and bring more ease and flow in your parental role.
