The Primal Model (Frederick Michael Farrar)

Overview: Human Awareness. Consciousness. The Memory. The Holon. The Principles of the Primal Model. Primal Pain & Narcissism.

Ken Wilber traces the course of evolution from matter to life to mind and describes the common patterns that evolution takes in all three of these domains. From the emergence of mind, he traces the evolution of human consciousness through its major stages of growth and development. He particularly focuses on modernity and postmodernity: what they mean; how they impact gender issues, psychotherapy, ecological concerns, and various liberation movements; and how the modern and postmodern world conceive of Spirit.
The book that follows describes and explains the most significant tenets of Ken Wilber’s theory.

5. What is the main story in the holons you live in?
6. If you wished to restory what would be the new story?
7. Comment on the above

Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life’s Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:
Heaven lies about us in our infancy!
from William Wordsworth “Ode on Intimations of Immortality”
