C4u (Care for You) is a structured interview tool in the form of a questionnaire, created to help professionals gather the most essential information about a child—or any individual—in a single session with the mother and/or father.
It is especially valuable in situations where direct communication with the person is limited, difficult, or impossible. This may occur when:
-
the individual is a newborn, infant, or very young child without developed language skills,
-
the person is unwell, in crisis, or unable to clearly express their experiences,
-
the individual’s current state prevents them from using reasoning or their full capacity for communication.
In these cases, C4u enables professionals—most often those working in psychosomatic health, psychology, pedagogy, or other human-support fields—to rely on the parents’ perspective as a primary source of insight. The mother and/or father are interviewed individually, allowing the professional to gather rich, meaningful information that sheds light on the child’s or individual’s developmental journey and current needs.
The questionnaire is organized into five key sections that follow the natural chronology of life:
-
General data – foundational details about the child or person.
-
The preconception scene – circumstances, intentions, and context before conception.
-
The prenatal scene – experiences and environment during pregnancy.
-
The birth experience – conditions and events surrounding the birth.
-
After birth – developmental history, relationships, and life events postnatally.
A complete C4u session typically lasts between one and two hours. Despite its simplicity, the process is deeply respectful, tender, and effective, often uncovering layers of understanding that would otherwise remain hidden.
For the professional, C4u is not just a questionnaire—it is a doorway into the story of the person’s beginnings and development. For the child or individual at the center, it can be the foundation of more accurate care, deeper empathy, and transformative support.
In short, C4u is a professional tool with the potential to be life-changing.
